REV Race Schedule Through June

I know many of you are looking forward to our next race of the year. The next team race will be on May 17 in Albany, Ga. It is about 1 hr 45 minutes away. It was a great race weekend last year. This year, there WILL be junior crit races on Saturday morning only. 10 - 14's race at 8:20 AM and 15 - 18's at 8:40 AM. These races were just recently added and are not listed on the race flyer, but they are confirmed. You can see them on the registration page here:

Unfortunately, there are no junior road races on Saturday, just category races. You can speak with coach Mark about those races and your junior's potential participation. I do have hotel rooms reserved at the Wingate, the race hotel, for $89. We will send out more details as it gets closer. I just wanted to give everyone notice to mark their calendars.

In addition, there are numerous other races upcoming that some of you may be interested in, and I have attached the race flyers for your information. Race Report: Georgia Crit Championships Macon GA

Truly a beautiful day for racing. Velo Mom extraordinaire, Kelly Sciba, Brian Sciba, Price Edewaard, Eric "Boo" McNees, and Coach Mark McNees left Tallahassee at 5AM to race up in Macon GA. Jason Davis and Graham Gillis drove up on their own a little latter.

Brian raced a very competitive Juniors 15-18 field with several 1/2s in the peloton and the Cat 4 crit. He did extremely well in both races, if I remember correctly he was 4th in the junior race and 8th in Cat 4. Brian continues to show tremendous gains and race presence, it is only a matter of time before we start seeing him on the top podium spot.

Coach Mark raced the 45+ Masters 1-4 after sitting in for the first third of the race he found a short lived break, a few laps later he found himself in a four person break that was pulled back in a lap or so later. His best chance came when he attacked with 3 laps to go and kept away for two laps with another racers until the bell lap when they got caught and spit out the back.

Price rode like a seasoned pro hitting the corners with precision angles and form. The race start practices paid off with a near perfect start to get him in the front group with the big boys. Price continues to get better each race and we are very proud of him and his 3rd place finish.

Jason Davis also raced twice Masters 35+ 1-4 and Cat 3. Jason said, both races averaged around 27mph, but were for the most part pretty safe. Obviously disappointed with two mid-pack finishes on the day, but he kept the rubber side down and lived to race another day.

Graham Gillis and Jason raced Cat 3 together, the plan was to work together to set up a break and take the win. There were several GA teams up there looking to claim the State Championship jersey and obviously did not want some Floridians coming in and spoiling the party. After a hard fought race Graham and Jason had to settle for a mid-pack finish.
